<description>"What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1v.9)
Why can we not get this through our heads?

<description>Oh man, I could go on about this one. I get so frustrated with seeing the church trying to imitate the world in all we do, and they wondering why our churches are shrinking. Why imitate the world? We usually do a terrible job of it, anyway! We worry more about being p.c. than about preaching the Truth of the gospel.

Christianity IS a fighting religion in the sense that Truth is Truth, we are not the originators of it, only the messengers called to carry it to a world desperately in need of it. And it will offend! Jesus promised us it would! So, as Derek Webb once said, we need to quit worrying about it and "get to preaachin'!"

Of course, in all this, I'm as guilty as anyone. How often have I shrunk from boldly proclaiming the Cross of Christ out of fear, or a desire not to offend? Too many.
