SynerJACK is a meeting place betwen four guys and whoever else wants to drop by. SynerJACK is a celebration of the fact that we can create synergy, have fun, grow, and sharpen each other as we explore the trivial and meaningful stuff.
Who are we? Family, for starters. Two of us, Curtis and Kyle, are married to twin sisters. Actually Curtis is engaged to one of them and is squealing with anticipation to get married, which will happen sometime in June. Joel is the brother to the aforesaid sisters, and Andy is the old man.
All of us are somewhere in ministry. Please don’t hold that against us! Andy is the Senior Pastor of Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock, Texas. Kyle serves there, too, as the Youth, College, and Missions Pastor. Joel is the youth pastor at Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas, where in less than three months he has tripled the youth attendance. Amazing. Curtis serves as a youth pastor in the North Dallas District of the United Methodist Church. We can’t disclose the actual church name yet, as Curtis’ security detail says the investigation is still pending. Something about a rabbit suit.
Why SynerJACK?
“Syner” is a play on words - a place where “sinner” and “synergy” converge.
JACK is an acronym based on our names - Joel, Andy, Curtis, and Kyle. Plus, it’s a tip of the cap to one of our heroes - the legendary C. S. Lewis.
Stop by often. Join the conversaion (please!). Better still, sign up for the email or RSS feed. We promise we’ll do our best to make you laugh. Or mad. Or think. Who knows? Maybe even pray.
