Then there’s Levi’s. Home of the 501 jeans. They have a commercial running now that is so offensive on so many levels, I don’t know where to start.
I know sex sells. I get it. And pardon me for sounding like an old fart, but give me a stinkin’ break.
I’m not a black male, but if I was, I’d be offended. Is this how they’re supposed to be stereotyped? How about males in general? Yes, we’ve earned it in many respects, and I’ve got three fingers pointing back at me. But really.
Oh, and while we’re at it, what the heck is wrong with actually loving somebody before you have sex with her? To say nothing of actually thinking with your “big brain” first.
I just read that we have a 1/2 chance of getting a sexually transmitted disease. I don’t have one; so from now on, if I’m looking at you funny, just ignore it.
Hey Levi’s. I know you don’t really need my money. And judging from the apparent success of your “Live Unbuttoned” campaign you won’t be missing me or my money. But if this commercial is what it means to live unbuttoned, maybe it’s time to think again.
