Who’s that you hear…yes, could it be…that is right. ‘C’ seems to still be alive. And what better subject to speak on other than change. Heck, in the past year my life has gone from good, lonely and secure to amazing, no ‘me’ time and ‘where the heck are we going now?”.
Even my wife has had a moment of realization when it comes to change. Click here to read her blog.
But as I take a moment and step back to realize EVERYTHING that is going on around me besides my personal life (marriage, job change, etc.), I find that even the world is changing. It is a time of change right now. Obama promises change and change I am getting. Still doesn’t make me like him though.
The world is melting (probably not, but only to appease the psychos), Iran is ready to kill all the Jews (that’s been tried before), China is making cars (which they always have done), Europe won’t stop trying to be everyone’s friend and enemies at the same time (who like Europeans anyway…just kidding), our economy has slowed down (giving us reason to believe that we are all going to die), South America is becoming a threat to the world (where did that continent come from? Never heard of it), President Bush wants to drill for more oil (since when did the concerns of the American people become important) and record numbers of people are actually following the election this year (what happen to America’s 1st Amendment, “Thou has the right to be apathetic to everything that matters”).
But here is what I don’t understand, everything that seems to be a big topic right now is not something ‘new.’ In fact, I don’t think that I would list these 8 things (among many) as anything different then what has been going on for…well, since the beginning of time. I mean look at this:
- Global Warming - Noah told everyone around him there was going to be a different climate and we need to ‘change’ our ways or we will all die…plus, every since Al Gore had vocal chords, he was looking for a way to make money. That shouldn’t be a shocker.
- Iran threatening Israel - C’mon! Really? Been there, done that and Hitler almost accomplished the feat. Your not as smart as Hitler or as cool…and plus, they have God on their side.
- China makes fuel efficient cars - well….China is doing something that benefits the world (to an extent), so that is a little different. But the world has always looked at China to be its primary manufacturer when the world needs something.
- Europe allies with everyone - They are the center of the earth. That is where history began and history has always revolved around. It is also full of countries that continually implode due to power.
- Our economy is in a recession - Has anyone read the definition of recession? Dave Ramsey explains it the best…Click Here!
- Venezuela & Hugo Chavez - There is always some stupid ruler who thinks he is the ‘bomb’!
- Bush wants to drill for oil to lower gas cost - whoever thinks that gas is going to be $2.00 a gallon again is ignorant and naive. We live on oil, always have and probably always will be. Plus, put these two together; Bush’s popularity among Americans is extremely low and something is finally being done for the sake of American people…
- America finally cares about the presidency race? - This is actually a first time since George Washington.
So then what is different around us right now. What change will be brought to ‘the American people’? The answer is, none. Yeah we might have our first black president, and war will take place (or continue to take place) but none of that is a change. In 6 months, there will be no choice that is made in the White House or Senate that will change the face of this earth. The rich will always do what it takes to secure their wealth and people will continue to hate other people.
However, there is one change that has taken place which can rock the face of this universe. For the first time in a long time, people are actually paying attention. We live in a country where we elect men to make choices for us. We elect them into to office so that they are a representative of what we (the Americans) want in this country. However, our slothfulness got the best of us and we began to rely on these man to do good for us while we watch our football games.
Sincerely, the best thing to ever happen to any civilization and mankind was for them to wakeup and realize the environment around them. I don’t care what you believe as long as you believe something. And if you believe it, change everything around you to make life better everyone. Pay attention to the things that change our lives.
Honestly, I personally enjoy when people get frustrated and upset when it comes to politics and ‘the things that are being done to this country (or world).’ It means that we are beginning to care. For now, that is the change that we need the most.

Hey one good thing about all the people hollering - it keeps the Rush Limbaughs, Al Sharptons, etc. in business for another few years.
“What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 1v.9)
Why can we not get this through our heads?
